    Guys,

Looked at my headlamp wipers, and the rubber is looking low and is kind of bent where they sit without moving for so long.

    Can you guys tell me:

    1. How much rubber should I see on the blade. As much as a new Windscreen wiper blade or less?

    2. Anyone ever bought these, or have any idea how to replace? The tiny wiper blade and arm looks one peice to me.

EDIT: WHY? My car does not stay clean for half a week in the summer, I think I'm likely to give up washing in the winter and I want to take advantage of these!

    Hi Graham,

I've not replaced my headlight wipers yet, they are in pretty good nick, well visually at least. I have however had my windscreen wiper blade replaced at a local motor factors shop. To buy OEM replacement blade (that includes frame) costs £20 quid. To just have the rubber bit replaced into the original frame section cost me the princely sum of £2.50 <img src="http://www.mbclub.co.uk/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':D'>

Perhaps you could do the same for your headlamp wipers? Although I'm not sure whether you could bend that frame straight or not.

The wiper blades do come off the arms, just hold the wiper arm and pull the blade by the far end outwards, it will just pop out... Once they are out, you will see what a simple design it is, although it may not seem so at first!

When I was in Road Range (Merc Dealer) the other week sortin my new key out, there was a guy buyin some of these and was charged £8 or £9 i think for the pair.I not sure what car they was for but they should all be similar prices if not a universal fit maybe.

They aren't a universal size, as all headlamps are way different.

i think 124/202 aree the same and possibly others but generally they are different, in the arm and the blade.

    Thanks guys.

I hate it when I pop into the dealer to replace something that incidental, only to find out it has an obscurley high price.

Sounds like it is safe to get some more though!

I've replaced these on both 107 &amp; 126 using a cheap rubbers-only set from H*lfords and a sharp knife. You'd need to peer very closely and know what the OE looks like to spot they're bodged.

    New headlamp wipers fitted.

Remove one pin, and the end section pulls out.

The new wipers don't actually have more rubber on them, but the ones are soft and flexible compared to the old ones that had gone hard.
