**FAULT CODE** Apologies for the typo in the title!

Bit of an odd title but I'm having an ongoing issue following on from this thread.

https://www.mbclub.co.uk/forums/electronics/226836-visit-workshop-battery.html

Basically I've got a battery symbol and "Visit Workshop" on the dash. Front battery has been replaced, main battery is about 12 months old and putting out a decent voltage.

Now trouble is I had to jump start the car the other day and just after this error appeared. Got a local garage to take a quick look and read the fault codes, which showed -

9000 Component N82 (Battery Control Module) is Defective.

So my question is, will that code be definitive? In that I could get my hands on a used battery control module and fit it or could it be something else?

My local garage printed out the error and recommended showing it to Mercedes but I'm suspecting the part is somewhat expensive brand new (used us about £80).

Can anyone advise? Am I barking up the right tree replacing this :

Well I got in touch with a local Merc specialist (one I do rate for my CLS!) and to replace the battery control module, assuming it is that...£575!

Now I've been Googling away, looking up that error, searching on here and it all points to the battery control module. So I bit the bullet and ordered a used one off eBay for £90!

It's not an amount I really want to waste but if it does sort the issue out then it's a hell of a lot less money than a brand new one.

Fingers firmly crossed!
