CLK W209
I have the engine light illuminated on my CLK 2.3 Komp, 2000 X reg, is there a fairly cheap way of checking what the fault is, I'll be servicing the car my self so it would be something I'd like to keep, I'd also like to be able clear the service messages...

Many Thanks to anyone that can help

To be honest, there's no reliable cheap method of thoroughly reading/diagnosing and resetting faults on MB cars as new as this. For the amount of time you'd be likely to need this service, you'd be better of visiting a decent indepentant garage for this.

Still doesn't stop you from carrying out the majority of routine servicing and repairs though :)

The fault codes can be read by anyone though, the aircon man that sorted out my car's condenser last year had some kit for it, although we didn't find out much.

Still not cheap though (as in for the DIY-er!)

thats correct bought one my self no good, but just changed my car so fingers crossed
