Faulty fob

Help-the fob key for my w203 refuses to open the door and I couldn't run the engine either.Luckily manage to open the door by removing the key from the fob and to get my wallet.So far so good,the bad news are that I have to get taxi to work and back until replacement fob is bought.Any idea how long I have to wait and how much going to cost.Tomorrow I shall be calling MB to order one.Thanks

Are you sure it's not the battery in the fob? New ones are around £200

Or are you sure it's not a flat car battery?

yes definitely,I have changed the fob battery and still wont open the doors,car battery is fine too.The good news are that I have my wallet out of the car and I am ok to pay the bill for taxi to work and new FOB from MB steeler.
