Hi

Is there any way of telling which sensor is faulty on a W210? Other than plugging into STAR....

I think its one of the rears thats gone as the error/bleep/red light warning only comes on when I engage reverse.

I assume I have to take bumper off to change?

Thanks.

Mark.

Anybody??

Normally you can hear it. Put it in reverse and get your ear down by each one. They will be making a clicking noise. One of them will either not be making it, or it will be noticeably quieter than the others - that's your duff one.

You might find this easier with a stethoscope....

Just been through this on my Audi, and it's the only reason I know!

HTH,
Cheers,
Dan.

The above procedure works on almost all parking sensors. Some types are silent when working and click when failed, other types click when working and silent when failed. So just look for the "odd one out"

When you spray the new one, remember you don't want the paint coat too thick
