I have a 53 plate CLK 500 which has a faulty roof. When the roof is raised, there is a fabric 'pouch' which protrudes from either side of the rear window. These can be tucked away by stopping the roof just before the end of the closing cycle and pushing them in by hand. The roof has now developed a slight leak on one side, so I think the two might be connected. Anybody know where I can get a proper diagnosis and repair near Oxford? I took it to my local dealer, who quoted me £4k for a new roof.

Don't know if your 'pouch' is the same as the water bag repair shown in this video, but I found it quite fascinating to watch.

Doesn't look an easy (or cheap) fix though.

I particularly like the instruction to ensure you've got clean hands because it's so hard to clean the fabric if you don't.
