When I told the missus that my new Merc (W203 320cdi) was pretty much bulletproof she replied:

"please tell me you haven't bought a bulletproof car, why the hell do you need that?!"

I explained what I meant but she still said you wouldn't put it past me... and yes she's right, these armoured cars do have a strange appeal.

I once considered a bullet-proof 540iA 'Protection'. Unfortunately, it was considerably more expensive than an equivalent standard 540iA but strangely appealing.

Was it an E34 540 because I thought they came bombproof as standard!

I loved my old 540 but try finding a decent one now and its almost impossible.
