My CLK has got a set of 18" AMG reps fitted. The front wheels fill out the arches very nicely, however, the rears just don't sit right to me. I know a staggered set up would mean wider rear tyres but I've not got staggered wheel sizes. Are spacers an option for me to help fill out the rear arches?

Thanks

Sell your AMG reps and buy original staggered ones? ;)

If you decide to fit spacers, make sure you have enough arch clearance, because the tyres might catch on the edges.

I would actually prefer a set of staggered 17" AMG's. I think the CLK looks better with them. I've just fitted brand new Bridgestones to mine so am going to hang onto them for a while longer.

Unless someone wanted to swap a set 17" AMG's with new tyres! :)

When I had my 208, I had 19" rims.
8.5" wide front and rear.
Offsets of 35, front and rear.

I ran 20mm SCC hubcentric spacers.
No rubbing.

And I lowered the car by approx 30mm using Koni shocks and Eibach springs.

I also swapped out the front spring pads for #2's and the rears for #4's.

Looked bloody awesome.

I could have gone wider.

Interestingly, on my 63, I have a staggered setup but still use spacers.
15mm SCC hubcentric spacers.

The rears sit very nicely indeed.
