Finally back in an AMG.

Thank you.
I've been very patient. Been checking AT for over a year and looking seriously for a couple of months now. It never seemed the right time.
Not my first choice of colour originally, but seeing it in the flesh it really does suit the 213 shape.
So neither a Hyacinth or Selenium Grey (like yours) nor the light interior. But I only saw the combination I wanted on one car and that was a 17 plate which I felt a little too old. The one I did view previously turned out to be not worth the asking price and I left it. I'm glad I did now.

Off on holiday in a few days time and a new driveway being laid whilst I'm away so pickup Sat/Sun/Mon 2/3/4 Aug.
Its going to be a long 3 weeks but I can relax by the pool with the grandkids and have something to look forward to on my return.
The wait seems worth it ! , it has great options ! In a few weeks you'll be behind the wheel and we look forward to your review of how the car drives etc !
In the meantime enjoy the holiday with the grandkids ! You won't need to worry about replacing tyres for a long time it seems. Those michelin 4S's should last a while!

enjoy your holiday Log. I would recommend getting a ceramic coating done as it will help keep it cleaner longer and also easier to wash. if poss also get the front ppf'd as the front does attract a lot of stone chips!

Congrats, stunning colour ... much better than the standard black/grey combos!

So you've seen my thread on the day out which ended with me now owning a 2019 E63s Premium saloon in Cavansite Blue metallic. The premium pack has a few options as standard, noted later.
It wasn't my first choice of either interior or exterior colour, but seeing it in the flesh it takes on a different look to photos. I'm actually liking the black leather performance seats with white stitching and the silver seat belts.
I'll put up a few photos then highlight some of the options I think are very nice to have.

Congrats again slim, love the colour combo!

It's at 55 064. More than I wanted, but I'd be forever looking for the perfect car. There are only 38 on sale on AT and half of those are in matte paint which I'm not keen on.

I was stood behind the car on first start up and it was pretty loud. I wonder its already had exhaust work.
I think the only options would make the car illegal. Gut the OPF and re weld it back together. Maybe would need a CEL coding out afterwards or downpipes with 200 cell cats taking the OPF out of the equation completely. My MOT station would pass it, but who knows about them all and if regs change again that makes downpipes a complete no no.
Thats for the future though Going to enjoy it as it is for a while at least.

Have you done the back box delete? Do you have a sound clip if so?

Yes, mine has the backbox delete. When I was looking for it originally, the first two cars I heard (one 2019 and one 2017) both sounded fairly sedate. When mine was first started at the place I bought it from, I knew something was different, but didn't find out until its first MOT 4 months later :D

I don't have any sound clips at the moment, but I will get you a 'cold' start video (as cold as it can be in 25 degree heat) when I can and one when its warmed up in S+ so you can hear the difference.

The nice part about it is that in comfort, you get a pleasant gurgle noise when you're changing down, whereas you'd normally hear nothing (certainly like that in my old C63S when the valves were shut).

Anyway - video come!

On video it actually sounds quieter, but you get the idea. There's more of an audible difference when you're moving, sadly I don't have a GoPro or similar...Anyway, for what its worth and all that:

Yep, mine sounded about the same.
It will always sound quieter from the driving seat instead of hearing it passing by.

No issues at MOT time with missing back boxes?
It does sound nice.
In fact when I get to see mine again I'll have to crawl under and check if I have any back boxes. It sounds very similar to yours.

it failed one of the emissions tests first time around as one of the welds on one of the straight pipes was leaking - but they sealed it for me, retested and jobs-a-goodun 😄

So the fabricator cut the boxes off behind the bends and just welded on straight pipes up to the fake exits?
Sounds good anyway:thumb:

It appears the registration reverts back to the original 19 plate as the previous owner has retained CH05TTT
When the V5 is returned, the dealer, (middleman) will arrange the transfer to the new plate I have just bought (GT10 UFO) I sent him the £80 DVLA fee.
So I need to insure in its 19 plate guise, then do a number plate change when the new plate is assigned to the car.
Then inform the insurance company who will probably charge me for a plate change:doh:

Not straightforward is it.
Off to pay for the insurance while I have some money left;)

Edit, never had a private plate, so this is new to me.
Also complicates the fact the plate is going back to the original before I get the chance to put mine on.

A quick one.
Picking the car up Mon 4th Aug in the afternoon.
Do I commence my insurance on the 4th or the 3rd.
I assumed insurance commences 12 01am on the day I take ownership.
Don't want to find its not insured on the way home.
