CLK 270 and BMW Z4 with a VFR750 sadly off the road
Popped into my local dealer yesterday to have new Registration plates made up for my cherished number and while there metnioned some very slight blistering on the alloys of my 8 month old CLK. Out comes an assistant, goes round all four and said "as long as I can see something it will be 4 new wheels".

Despite having to look very hard, its 4 new wheels, ordered with no quibble.

Yes they should not be blistering at 8 month old but the fact they were so willing to oblige made up for it! :p

Fingers crossed I don't need to find out if that approach is consistent! :D

Exactly the service I had when mine bubbled. No they shouldn't be bubbling - but it's how they're sorting it out that matters - nice one:rock:

My Grandad always used to say "a fish rots from its head" whenever he had bad service from an organisation.

I think we are seeing the dealers responding well to the new (non-rotting!) head of MB who is ruthlessly sorting the company out.

I know that MBUK in MK have been visited and told that quality comes first and so, hopefully, will be much more amenable to dealers doing the right thing.

Great isn't it?!

I thought they'd stopped replacing wheels and only refurb'd them now?

The new boy is on a quality mission - all the replaced bits are being analyzed to death to stop the rot!

Welcome back the new/old MB....

No this was changed many, many months ago. New wheels.

Also there has always been good dealerrs, it is just so sad that the less capable, give the majority a bad name. Read Pammy's post and you will see that she had a similar experience to the author of this thread.

My experience was with the E280CDI.

Went in for the loudly farting SBS pump mod (fit pipe damper), over-eager downchange into 2nd (maybe first) when coasting (Star re-adaption) and to check out the Version 5.0->5.1 Nav disk freebie swap.

All accepted without a murmer, disk while I waited, and so I couldn't resist saying "that was easy" - which is when I was told that MK are now much more receptive to warranty claims and so the dealers can "do the right thing" without risking having to swallow the costs themsleves - MK used to take ages to eventually say "no".

Be interesting to see if any of the rust claims are easier now??
