Car
BMW E60 545 fully Hamann'ed up!
well i picked up the 200k on saturday and first impressions are that its a nice family car with plenty of room. However I just have a few questions after reading the manual it seems to suggest that the only way to check the oil level is through thr OBC, there doesn't seem to be a dip stick is that correct? also with the PDC front and rear it only beeps when the display goes to red, on the BMW you get a faint beep and get it gets lounder and faster the nearer you get I assum the merc one only bleeps once you get real close, or is there a setting I need to reset.

Apart from that its fine just going to order the green cotton element and some chrome exhaust tips I i was surprised how expensive they are)

The chap before must have just taken it through a car wash so yesterday was spent at my friends garage where we mopped the whole and then applied the megurires 3 step I would have posted some pics but once i got home the heavens opened up :-(. I'll get some up ASAP

welcome to C Land.

Yep. What year is your car? On my 05 model C270, there's a 'trick' to see the oil level:
Switch ignition to position 1 and ensure (or select) the display shows total miles.
Turn the key to off, then to pos 1 again. then, Before the SRS warning goes off, press the reset button (the one sticking out of the instu panel) 3 times.
The display should then show battery voltage. Use the up/down arrows on the left of the steering wheel to scroll through the menu's - it shows the VIN number, 'Dyno' mode (turns ESP off) and another menu that has the oil level in Litres at the bottom. It'll be blank at first - turn the ignition to Pos 2 and, after a few moments it'll display the oil level.

Struggling to remember the BMW system, but I don't think it has such a detailed display as the Merc? The way yours is working is correct, anyway.

my car is 2003 i'll try that trick anyway lol
