Hello all,

After being a BMW man (E36 328i, E46 328Ci, E92 325i, E86 Z4) I have taken the plunge and just purchased a 2012 C350 CDI Sport. Big change, and with this being a diesel!

Will throw some pics up once I've picked her up. Lots to learn; so any advice or links to useful info would be greatly appreciated!

Looking forward to MB ownership!

Chris.

Welcome!

The C350 cdi is an awesome car. Loved mine (except when it broke!)

Thanks!

Yeah drives really well. Looking forward to the extra refinement, comfort and practicality over the Z4 Coupe! Very different animals.

What went wrong with yours?

Fuel sender died as did the instrument cluster.

I don’t believe they are common failures so I’m sure yours will be fine.

I have just asked the question around Mercedes ServiceCare and whether it is worth it for me.

Thread is here, service history below. Any thoughts?

You would gain doing a service plan now by getting B A B servicing. The B service being the more expensive.

Unless you have an overriding reason keep main dealer service history, I would use a good indy who will do the same servicing a lot cheaper and still keep any warranty as they can update digital service records. At least you can be sure its done properly by an indy.

Either Star Motors in Caversham nr Reading or PCS in Horndean will do the job.

Thanks for info. Star Motor Services is about half an hour from me. I think closer to the time I will weigh up whether or not I stick with MB main dealer servicing based on cost. However I am leaning towards keep full MB history if possible.

Based on what has been done so far, I envisage I will only need engine oil / brake fluid services for the next few services?

A quick question. The most recent service shows a battery replacement for KEYLESS GO. But when I checked the options via the VIN, I don't see it.

Did UK W204s have this option?
Thanks.

I don't believe W204's have KG. Maybe just the key battery was changed and KG printed in error?
It is Option 889 on your datacard.

Thanks. I didn't think it was available but worth checking.
