if one were to have a repair done on an item that was supposed to last for many many years, and had a 1 yr warrenty on said repair, and the repair failed 1 yr + a tiny bit (unknown) down the line as a wearable (known issue) item failed - how would I stand? The worn item will have started to fail a long time ago (less than a year after the repair) - but the symptoms were not that obvious.

item x failed at T0.
item x replaced along with item Y as a precaution, even though Y was still perfectly serviceable. Item Z was not mentioned, nor replaced.

T+1.1 item Z fails totally, causing item Y to be destroyed, and the whole thing scrapped.

I'm being deliberately vague im afraid..

total cost to me might well me two grand   - of which the vast majority is labour.
