Fitted dashcam in W204 now cannot refit interior mirror

So yesterday, fitted Dashcam (2013 W204) and was happy that I managed to run cable to fusebox in boot and all worked fine.

This morning going to work I noticed the intermittent wipers were not working.

On getting home I removed the cover on the windscreen to see the attached picture was floating free.

After many attempts I cannot see how it locates to the screen. To try and give myself a better view, I removed the interior mirror, very easy to pull down, but how on earth does it go back.

Sometimes jobs go very well, other times I wonder why I ever bother !!

If anyone can give advice on either I would be very grateful.

I've managed to find a video on You tube showing how to fit the interior mirror, however I cannot find any video or picture of how the sensor fits.

All I've managed to find out is it's a humidity/temp sensor.

Has anyone who owns a W204 confident in removing their cover trim to have a look please.
