Fitted new grille today

Hey AMG or not it’s a Merc with AMG styling.
Now what about my grille [emoji39]

Yes, back to the grille, I prefer it. I did like the raised star, but it'd be too much to have both

My son has offered\strongly suggested :p to buy me a replacement grille for my 2013 e class estate.

He is also suggesting changing the raised star for the flat bonnet badge, I like the replacement grille with the rotor\propeller (not sure of the correct term), but I really really like the raised star.

The replacement grill will be a chrome 2 bar with mesh insert I think, like this one on the white e-class, my car is obsidian black.
BTW, the c-class in the pic is my son's car.

So if you see me with both on, please wave giving thumbs down or thumbs up sign, other signs will be understood :D.

What do you think, is having the raised star along with the rotor too much? or should I care.

Thanks all.
John

Yep too much, One star either in the grille or on the bonnet, But not both for me. Lovely couple of cars there :)

Hi merc85,

The white e-class estate is the same year as mine albeit an E250, but as you can see it has had some bodywork customisation.

I like it but I’m biased

That brown one with the two stars is an absolute abomination. It makes me want to throw up. It looks absolutely stupid and nobody ever should be allowed to do that to a Mercedes!

The standard grille with the bonnet star suits the pre facelift car just fine, no need to be ruined.

The grille on the white one looks good as it’s about the right era. If you put the new model single slat one on it looks a bit odd without the single headlights and looks retrofit.

FFS man chill out

Finally fitted the new grille, I have ordered the flat bonnet badge, I still like the 3 pointed star though, will see how the flat badge looks when it arrives.

A couple of photos for you, any thoughts or opinions are welcome.

Cheers, John

I think the white mini is better ????????????

If you have that new grille then ditch the star above it as its too in your face IMO. I think I prefer the old grille if I'm honest but its your car so if you like it then thats all that matters.

I like the grill with the big star in it but without the sticky out badge from the bonnet

lordlee, I have to acknowledge that I am torn between the two, but I will defer judgement, at least until the flat badge arrives.

Re bonnet badge, yes, i like the look of the stand up badge, as it is very retro, however, i would always be worried about damaging it when i clean the car, or some kind person breaking it off. My W163 has the flat badge, and i think i will stay with it.

The W163 had standard grill, all black with chrome star, i wanted a chrome grill, but on a silver car, thought not worth the cost. What i did was bought a roll of 15mm self adhesive chrome detailing, and cut and stuck to the three bars, looks like your grill without the chrome surround, cost was £7.50, and a couple of hours removing and re fitting grill, I think it looks ok.
