I've got my eye on a Becker Traffic Pro - it needs a signal from the speed sensor for the sat nav, where could I get it from my 1999 R129?

If the car has cruise the speed control signal is normally on a green / yellow wire in the footwell

However, yours is a 1999 car so I suspect it may have an electronic dash & be somewhat different to the earlier W124 / R129s. ON those the speed signal comes off a Hall Effect sensor plugged into the back of the binnacle. It senses the rotation of the speedo cable. If your car doesn't have a speedo cable the setup will be different

Some of the becker headunits don't need a speed signal. It's optional on my Indianapolis Pro and I've never had one installed - the satnav still works fine.

How old is the Becker? On some you can switch off the speed sensor bit and it just works from the GPS signal. Our Cascade is like that. Might be worth checking.

Thanks for the replies. It's a traffic pro high speed7820 and the car is a late model r129
