Going to fit a Tow Bar on my E350 Coupe.Does some sort of code need to be added after the tow bar electrics have been connected ? I'm being couscous as the Company I usually are stating they have to make a small cut on the AMG bodykit but have seen detachable tow-bars with any cuts...

Smeesh....

I don't think you can fit a tow bar to AMG sport line models. I was looking at one for my CLK but MB never managed to get for type approval for towing due to insufficient suspension travel.

Hmmm ? Seen Tow-Bras a mean Bars advertised for them ! Mines is the E350 Coupe Sport :wall bash: Oh dear .. Will go into Mercedes (Hamilton) and ask for a definite..

Check the VIN plate on your car. If there's a gross train weight on it (that's the maximum allowed weight of car plus trailer) then you can tow. If not it's illegal to have a towbar on the car.

I fitted a westfalia towbar and electrics to my 2012 E350 estate. No coding needed but I think you have to turn off the sensors manually every time.
The manual seemed to suggest that if you coded it then they would automatically turn off
