Newbie alert :)

I have recently bought a 1999 W208 CLK.

So far been extremely impressed with the car, apart from the stereo which is appauling.

So the plan over the weekend is to fit some component speakers and a couple of amps to the car.

Has anyone run RCA leads through a CLK before on here? I had a quick look today and wondered how the RCA would go under the carpet / back seats?

Can the rear seat bases be removed or is there an easy way to do it?

Cheers :)

If you remove the caps on the door sills you will find the main wiring ducts. Once you get the back seat out you will be able to run wiring from the boot,

Removing the carpet is harder than it looks.

Thanks Topdown,

Managed to sort it this morning, was actually fairly simple.

1) Ran the rca's under the side sills (as you say through the wiring tunnels).

2) From the tunnels you can pull the wires into the boot by prising open the side panels (actually very simple)

3) wires come into the boot behind the big panel where the boot hinge is.

4) wires then go under the plastic panel under the boot carpet.

Only took me an hour or so in the end :)
