A kind member on here has sold me a replacement wheel to replace the crappy one on my W126.

Is there a How To or guide anywhere on how to fit the new wheel?

I don't have an airbag to worry about. All the middle of the wheel does is work the horn.

Thanks!

Hi Rose Chap,

You'll need to remove the centre cap from the wheel and then undo the centre bolt which holds the wheel in place. It's a 10mm Allen/hex type from memory and will be on tight so you'll need a decent hex-key socket and ratchet etc. New bolt to refit or at least some threadlock.

If it is anything like getting the one off on my old w124 , you'll need a rubber mallet too !!

I use a very long extension bar, get someone to hold the steering and then use all of my KG's on the bar... if its never been off it will be VERY tight.

Don't take the hex allen bolt all the way out & then try to jerk the wheel off the spline. Free it first then remove the bolt or you risk hitting yourself in the face with the wheel.

Thanks for the tips! By applying such good advice I should be able to save face (literally if I follow neilrr's advice). :)

Does the middle bit (horn) of the wheel with the three pointed star just pull off or do I have to undo something first?

It just clips on , wiggle the top off and then work round ....
