My passenger wing mirror glass does not move side to side, only up and down.

I can here a clicking noise, when i attempt to move it side to side, so am assuming that the motor is working fine, and it;s just the glass??:dk:

I've helped a friend who had to take off his A Class mirror, and i remember we couldn't get it back on, a garage had to do it ! :wallbash:

So my question is, can i just take the mirror out and replace it, without taking off the cover, if so how?

I found this thread http://www.mbclub.co.uk/forums/bodywork/50235-fitting-wing-mirror-glass-w211.html

And it suggests removing the clip, but i've no idea how, after the mirror is put back that clip could be replaced.

All help appreciated.

Thanks
R

anyone?

You might have one little thingy like this that is broken like in the picture.
I think I got a spare one if needed.

cheers oliver, any idea how i get the mirror off and back on?

Move the mirror glass so that it points towards the ground.
You should see a spring clip (just a piece of wire) locked under a peice of white plastic.
Lever off the clip with a small screwdriver, and the mirror glass should lift out - you will need to disconnect two wires to the heating element.

Reassembly is the reverse of the above.
