Flashing brake light

On my 2012 c220 when I use my near side indicator my brake light flashes instead of the indicator , I've been told it's probs my a earth fault , what should I be looking for ? poor connecting ? corroded connection on the plug to the rear lights
I will be investigating further tomorrow so any help would be welcomed [emoji1303]

Look for a blown indicator bulb.
If this is blown the module will substitute the reverse or brake light and it is probably this.

Oh dear, mine has LED turn lights , am I looking at a new rear cluster ?

Ah, sorry, in that case I would get it on 'star' to be checked out.
If it is led then it takes so little current that it is unlikely to be an earth issue.

The car has a third party warranty so il take it to a local indy and see if it's covered , I was hoping for a simple fix I could do myself
