Flat battery - electric doorlock failure?

Just had a terrifying thought -
(ML500-W164) As I posted yesterday, my battery is suffering at 11.7v. I've ordered a CTEK MXS 5.0 as recommended to see if I can bring it back from the brink. As this is due to arrive tomorrow the car is sitting in my drive, locked awaiting attention. I tried starting it last night to check alternator output (14v) and it started 1st crank.
What do you think the chances are that the battery will lose enough charge to prevent the electric locks from working between now and then? - and if they do will they automatically unlock to ensure the car is accessible or remain locked ? - Only reason it becomes a thing is - the car is on my drive (can't fit it in my teeny-tiny 1970's garage) and the manual doorlock doesn't work (it's on the list) - guess that might be this afternoons job!

....soooooo.... after a couple of hours trying to work out what's happening....
The emergency key turns in the lock with no resistance. I have followed the instructions in the manual for unlocking the vehicle with the emergency key.
Nothing happens - the locking pin does not pop up.
I've then watched a couple of youtube vids on removing door card and replacing the actuator. This looked beyond my capabilities (certainly for a Sunday afternoon without a replacement actuator to hand)

Am I correct in thinking that something will have gone wrong within the actuator, which is why the locking pin does not pop up. I was kind of hoping it was the cable that was easily accessible once the card was off had perhaps come astray but then realised that looks like it's the door handle cable which must be working as I can open the door (just not unlock it with the emergency key) ? .

Strongly suspect that before I started this my emergency key would not work and after I've finished it still won't work.... another sunny Sunday afternoon well spent....
