I stuck my car into CKS to have the chrome dial surrounds fitted, they fell off. SO back it went to have new ones fitted.

When I collected the car I noticed that when I indicate the centre LCD now flashes on and off!
CKS told me to take it somewhere else to fix…

Any clues as to why this has happened?

Obvious suggestion is that someone hasn't put a lead on properly.

Or there's a short somewhere.

They said they had checked that, sorry, neglected to mention that after i spotted the flickering, CKS then told me they had no idea why it was now happening, they had checked and rechecked the unit and that the only solution would be to take it to a specialist instrument cluster company.

If it was fine before they did the work, and they were the only ones to touch it before you got it back and noticed the problem, there can be only one explanation?

Regardless of who fixes it, I'd suggest asking CKS to pay for the resolution.

Certainly my train of thought... although some time has passed since it happened and they have done other work on the car with neither party mentioning this dash lights. Think i should have stomped around a bit more when it happened if im going to now invoice them for the fix! I guess its my own fault for not kicking up then.

Yes. Unfortunately, the longer you take to attempt to resolve the situation, the more difficult it gets to get someone to admit it's their fault and recompense you.

I have some pixels out anyway so hopefully I'll get it all done at once.

Good. Press for getting that sorted and hopefully the flickering will go away when they plug the connections in right.

You were on the right track already - I didn't add much.

It's just reassuring to know im a **** for not kicking off when it happened!
