i posted recently about the boat like handling on my coupe (i was previously spoilt by a saloon with sls) anyway i had the coupe lowered and this really helped the handling, but the back end seems vague!, seems like it drifts around corners, sometimes bad enough to feel unsafe, i know its not a sports car, but surely i should be able to throw it round just a little

1. Have you had the rear sub frame bushes checked out?
2. Has the wheel alignment been done?
3. Are you using budget tyres?

As above get the rear subframe bushes checked. Had the same on mine. A

thanks guys......car is running on avons all round, and wheels ok,.....i take it rear subframe bushes are not a d.i.y job

mmmm, thanks guys, just read lots of old threads about this, had a look today and i reckon i need to replace lots of bushes, there are a couple (forgive my ignorance on the part), but i assume the bushes are knackered as the bolts going through are not sraight, i mean at the top of the bush on one side and the bottom on the other side if that makes sense.........any way just been on the russian site to identify the thrust arm and camber arm and bushes etc, are the numbers on the left actual mb part numbers its just that some do not begin with 124, im guessing that these parts are just general bits

All those numbers are genuine MB numbers, it's just items like fastenings are not model specific and other parts are from earlier or later models or have been superseded.

thanks DM didnt want to walk in a dealers and look a numpty with wrong number

Unless you have a press, changing the tie rod bushes is impractical, just change the arms.

thanks DM didnt want to walk in a dealers and look a numpty with wrong number

That is the wrong approach.

You just need to walk into the dealer parts dept with the full VIN.

He/she then sorts the appropriate part numbers for you, as many have been superceeded as other poster's have said.

Some of the suspension links are now the newer 210 model parts numbers.

So, do not make life difficult for yourself and try and second guess when you do not need to do so.
