HI ALL, I HAVE JUST SPOKE TO THE GARAGE THAT LOOKED AT MY CAR, AND THEY ARE SAYING SOMETHING ABOUT A FLYWHEEL SENSOR PROBLEM,THAT IS CAUSING MY CAR NOT TO CHANGE UP GEARS, DOES ANYONE KNOW WHAT THIS SENSOR MAY BE? THE CAR IS A 1997 E230 5 SPEED AUTO,

I POSTED ON HERE BEFORE AS I THOUGHT IT WAS THE ELECTRICAL PLATE IN THE GEARBOX THAT WAS AT FAULT, BUT IT LOOKS LIKE IT MAY NOT BE.

ANY HELP WOULD BE GREAT. CHEERS Guy...

Can't see how the Crankshaft Position sensor would affect the gearbox changing up.

If that sensor is faulty the engine cuts out.

is there some sort of speed sensor on the flywheel that may cause the gearchange problem do you know?

take it to another garage. That is BS.

have you had the box fault codes read?
