Hello,

Has anyone retrofitted power folding mirrors and auto dimming rear view mirror on a W176 A Class. Would really like to get these fitted as I previously had these fitted to my old S3 8p. And sort of miss them lol.

Cheers Dan

Yes, I have - to my W176. Also did DAB, Reverse camera and lane-assist.

The drivers side dimming mirror glass is expensive, and controlled by the interior mirror. But you can leave that piece to later if you get the correct mirror frames :)

Speak to Alfie via contact form on Mercedes Retrofit Specialist - Comand.co.uk

Cheers

Hello, rang these people this morning. They advised me to phone mercedes, rang mercedes in Newcastle told me that the whole loom needs replacing at 780 pounds. Rang command retrofits back, didn't really want to help me. I don't mind paying for looms etc as I would like to have the dimming mirror fitted to my A-class anyone point me in the right direction of someone that would like to assist me.

Many thanks Dan

If you email [email protected] and say "Can you provide a parts kit for folding mirrors, dimming interior mirror, and the driver's door dimming glass with fitting instructions and necessary looms. Then I'm sure they will. You may want the driver's dimming glass to be optional as it is expensive and you may just try and pick up one of those used. Theres already a folding mirror kit on the website (and if you tell them you want to add dimming mirrors when ordering it, they'll sort the correct mirrors out with the dimming wiring). BUT the outside mirror (driver's side only dims) won't dim without the interior mirror etc etc

What we are unlikely to do is spend an hour or two working out what parts / looms you need to then supply you just the looms as I'm sure you'll understand we'll make about £0.50 on the looms and checking the parts are all compatible based on your VIN and whatever options is not trivial

You can then fit it all yourself and visit Mercedes dealer to have it coded

Cheers

Like i said to you when I phoned you and i was very polite on the phone, In which i was rudely IMO by there person in the background (not the person speaking to me on the phone) passed off. I'll gladly pay for the loom/looms and information to make the rear view dimming mirror work in my car, This is no issue for me as I do not expect people do do stuff for free we all need to make a living somewhere.

Thanks Dan
