The moment I saw the photograph at the start of your second post Dash, I thought it had to be from Car in the 80s - the photography had a heavy use of colour filters, but was normally quite superb. Then the article below.

Oh man. I may sound ancient but what mouth watering pictures. Growing up the Mercedes W123 CE was the first Mercedes I fell in love with.

Classic 80s styling down to the Accesories. The electric seat buttons in Pic 6 and the silver plated stereo in Pic 10. Reminiscent of the stereo I fell in love with in a Nissan 280Z in the 80s. No I didn't own one. I was a young lad but one of my neighbours had one and I used to look through the driver's window with my tongue hanging out.
Droool. That feeling came back looking at this CE. Makes you want to run your fingers lightly over these pictures and.....
...OK OK I know you all get the mesage. Love at second sight.

Was never a fan of those Penta Alloys though they were very popular through the 80s and 90s.

When I think of AMGs being special cars that's the kind of thing I think of. One of a kind, hand made, money-no-object, unique cars, not a branding exercise produced by the thousand.
