Donnington Park Classic and Modern Japanese and European Motorcycle Show - today.

There weren't as many bikes as the webpage enticed you with, but still a tenner well spent.

Fizzy's and a Garelli - proper tool me back:

A pair of giant killers:

Some Concours ready for judging:

The fearsome H2, also in the Concours:

The very unusual Katana:

A Brace?? of basket case Kawasaki triples, with a combined price tag of c£22K - half of them were sold:

Honda's 3 cylinder pocket rocket:

Kawasaki's entry into the turbocharging arena - I had one. Very fast in a straight line, rubbish round the bends, due to it's long wheelbase:

The simply fabulous RC30 - just look at the engineering:

And finally - I'd pay extra to be serviced here:

As someone who passed their m/c test in the 60's.....thanks for posting these modern bikes:D

some great motorcycles from my formative years there developer, that zx750e was a straight line monster :)

Reported for porn content. :)

P S the 400/4 has to be the fastest bike between two points in a city that I've ever ridden.

Thanks for sharing that experience John, excellent post.
That certainly takes me back a bit. My very first bike (legal and on the road anyway) in 1972 was a T250J Suzuki Hustler in Candy Blue. It’s a bit sad really; I can still remember the registration number - LDJ 35K. From memory, it cost about £365.00 brand new from Tom Collins Motorcycles in St. Helens. Fantastic bike that was, thankfully, I much prefer the very much slower pace today on the Harleys.

Dash1

If I'd have thought it through properly Ted, I should have come to collect you .

Now THAT would have been an offer I would have found hard to refuse!

This is one of my regrets - I've still got the Honda, but I bought the Suzuki in the early noughties, kept it a year, barely rode it and sold it on .

500cc square four two stroke.
95bhp, 340lbs .

Thanks for posting, some great bikes there......

Here's a T110
The 6T was essentially the same as a t110 but in a lower state of tune - if that were possible. It also came with more weather protection (which I soon ditched) and the 'slickshift' box which allowed you to change gear without using the clutch as long as you had leg muscles like Swarzenegger's

Great Pics

Thanks for sharing, great pics and a great opportunity for nostalgia.

Interesting to note that it is not just me that dodges the salad bowl on a regular basis.
