Hi, just a thought - anyone want to buy my 2015 c200 1.6ltr premium plus estate? EML intermediate and now needs MOT I’ve just taken a company car so the merc is surplus.
Could do with going to a home where someone has time to investigate and strip down the engine to fix the EML issue.
Runs lovely even with light on. I’ll put 12 months MOT on if it helps

Doesn't the MOT require there to be no EML being on for a pass...,?

The days of popping the bulb are gone on our modern dash displays...?

If the EML is on during the MOT test, it will be classified as a major defect and will result in a failed MOT test.

Hi , I am sure you are correct in that the EML should be regarded as a major defect.

However , I had had an issue with my light on with the TPG light on but it passed the MOT !

Will explain if anyone wants to know how ,y car passed

Yep, it’s been to an indie and they said it needs stripping down to decarbonise- labour is the pricy part if it hence me saying someone with time is best to have it!
