Formula 1 2022 (Will Contain Spoilers)

The pit lane fire that Jos Verstappen was engulfed in years back. I couldn't possibly be as heartless as wish he'd perished in it. But maybe if his scrotum had - or its contents...

Ricciardo to Red Bull as third driver say the Beeb. So retiring in all but name.

Safety cars.

The likelihood of a safety car coming out and bunching up the cars on the circuit and destrying earned time differences on track is much more likely than it used to be a few years back.
If that was the case then Checo could have been an even bigger (potential) beneficiary.

Unless to cover an illness i don't think he will be back in a full time race seat.

In hindsight he shouldn't of left Red Bull and i bet he thinks that alot.

Same with Vettel he should not of left Red Bull either
Seb I agree with.

Danny Ric I don’t. He’d have never been allowed the freedom of going for a WC IN Max’s team. 😤

Changing teams is always a gamble unless you have a crystal ball.

It paid off well for Lewis going to MB. Not so much for Seb or Alonso going to Ferrari

What was the alternative out of the points with Alpine / McLaren 🤷🏻‍♂️

Coulthard managed to get in a couple of digs at Seb again.

I didn't notice that - I was more irked by the inability to actually deal with the Red Bull issues from last week. Those two (Messrs Coulthard and Webber) are so RB corporate / F1 corporate they make very poor pundits.

Highlight of the season:- Red Bull caught cheating

I'm not sure that's a highlight.

Lowlight of the season:- Red Bull getting away with cheating

Let's see if the punishment has any effect next year.

In the meantime I think it was rather poignant that Lewis Hamilton defended against Sergio Perez this year and potentially took enough time and tyre wear off him to impact on his second place in the championship.

With due respect to Perez - I think that's justice given that he's effectively paid to do the same job to anybody who gets close to Max Verstappen.

And Ithink that Leclerc getting the position of second in the WDC is poor consilation but probably reflects that he and Ferrari looked like realk contendors at times this year.

Verstappen showed zero interest in reversing Leclerc back towards Perez. The stats are what count and Hamilton's are the target. Wouldn't risk losing his first place to enable Red Bull to have its first WDC 1,2. It's going to take MV a few years to surpass Hamilton's tally of wins. He'd better hope there's a team (or teams) prepared to indulge him.

I think he was more interested in the record 15 wins in a season rather than 1st and 2nd in the WDC which personally any driver in that position would of done , his only mistake was not letting check past last week

He would have jeopardised that 15th win but didn't have to concede it - Perez only had to finish ahead of Leclerc. Both results were possible - and would have made interesting viewing. He put his own ambition ahead of the team's though.

Not in his mind! He's resolute on that point.

I find it odd that Max stood by his decision in Brazil but then went on to say he’d assist at the final race IF required. (Which he didn’t)

Not sure what the difference was aside from publicly making his point. 🤷‍♂️
