The Forth road bridge is to be closed completely for the next 24 hours and possibly longer till structural defects--- up to 8--- are investigated.
This is a major blow to the Scottish Road network and will have huge knock on effects on traffic flows in central Scotland.

I have no doubt that Sir William Arrol is spinning in his grave as we speak : his own creation having surpassed 150 years and still standing ( despite its custodians best efforts through negligence ) and this upstart ( created in his name ) apparently rotten to the core and not even one third as old .
