I got my first mercedes a few months ago and I have spent a lot of time on the forum, however most of my time has been spent taking from the forum rather than giving to the forum, so its pay back time

I found an OBD2 diagnostic tool that seems to bridge the gap between the normal OBD tools and Star diagnostics.

I saw a post about an app called MerceWhat and it looked good, it is free to download and test, you then email the app designer a log file and the decode it and reply with the full diagnostic report.

I was impressed with the emailled report below as it picked up on a lot of faults that a professional OBD tool didnt!

I had previously used a Sealey dedicated diagnostic tool and cleared all faults before receiving the below report.

I dont have all the options that the scanner can check so my report after the scan was less comprehensive that it would be for others

All my tests were on my 2007 S211 280 sport, I dont work for the company that made the app and the activation cost me £29.99 (full price)

The bridged gap you refer to in your original post is still along way off Star but does look like it can carry out more detailed information than your everyday readers

Yeah I don't think it comes close to star but I've never used star. When I first plugged in after receiving the report the pics of the results just showed a yellow arrow. When you clicked on it you got the fault description that was written in the report. If anyone can think of an easy fault to put on I'll get a screen shot but I am very impressed.
