Looks like they stopped it!!

I ordered a set yesterday morning on the advice of my sister, who had just ordered a set for herself. Had mine posted to work to avoid multiple items being delivered to the same address/same surname etc.

If you search the web you'll find that information is on a lot of forums and websites ;)

The headset itself is actually rubbish, apparently the sound quality is like a "6-year-old eating crisps" or something ;)

At £5 for the headset, and free shipping (which will cost them maybe a pound or something) this will have cost BT a small fortune, if 100 people ordered the headset then it's only £600, 1000 or 10000 people then it's a LOT of money, assuming they even have stock of the item!

the moral of this story is never under estimate the power of the internet to circulate news of a freebie and don't start these silly giveaways on a Friday afternoon when there is nobody around to check just how popular they are proving :)

As for it costing a fortune, BT can easily afford it however I suspect that they may well have a "get out" if you read the ad

"Voucher code: Customers eligible for a free Budget Headset, who have been issued a £5 voucher code, should select the item and must click 'Buy' for further instructions on how to redeem their voucher (or promotional code) during stage 3 of checkout. "

the keywords being "eligible" and "issued" rather than "found out about the offer on the internet" could well save at least one person their job :)

Erm, hello? I already ordered a set for free. :)

The best comment on one forum was "ok I ordered a set. What are they?" ;)

Does anyone have or know of someone who has had one delivered ?

It's not turned up yet, although post has been a bit strange out here in Barnsley. Wonder if my sister got hers (posted to home address). Will find out later :)

neither have ours although my confirmation email has arrived as well - what's the betting they sent them all out second class?
