Free Mercedes Winter Health Check

I recently took my car in to MB Whitefield for the stated 'free' Winter Health Check.I was pleasantly surprised - I received a very comprehensive report back,including an advisable about some suspension bushes ( I had suspected there were issues there and had asked them to check).They checked the antifreeze quality and topped up screenwash and of course included a complimentary wash/valet.To top things off I got a little bag including a large screenwash,can of de-icer and ice scrapper.:bannana:Its all well people been cynical and saying that its designed to pull in service business - but they did not press me on the suspension bushes and said they thought they were fine for a few more thousand miles - so for once,its nice to say - well done Mercedes its what sets it apart from other marques.

I suggest you google your local dealership and look at their 'offer' and 'service' tabs - in my case,the dealership e-mailed the offer,as I am on their contact listing - hope that helps.

Some dealers offer this for free and tell you all the work you car needs, not always do they tell the truth as they want your money!

Many people may not agree with what I said but I have seen it many times.

Thanks for the heads up, unfortunately I checked with my local MB dealer (Bedford) they want £40 for the check, don't s'pose it's worth it, just give me nightmares and it don't need washing that badly

I allegedly had this today and the car came back without a goody bag and a half full level of screenwash. I also know the car is low on oil. I presonally think they did sweet FA.

I won't name them just yet, the car is going back in as they "did not have enough oil" to do the LSD oil change that was booked 3 weeks ago. So I have asked them to redo the health check.

My Indie did a free winter health check 3 weeks ago. I didn't go into detail about what they did, but they did advise on v belt and gearbox pilot bush beginning to leak. Also found track rod end that needed replacing....as usual they showed me before fixing it...it was totally rogered. Only pity that warranty did not cover this because it was not a breakdown......

Moral of the story...avoid Autoprotect warranties!

It is a national thing.

'check engine oil level' warning popped up today so they defo didn't check the oil. Final nail in the coffin of this dealer methinks.

Daughter had one done at Mercedes Beckenham recently on the recently acquired 190 - no charge but they got the car stuck in gear and struggeld to get it out again!
