Not that many here in Plymouth, mainly McDonalds - great! :D

I was in Plymouth overnight on business yeterday and it does appear to be one of the least 'connected' cities I've ever been to as far as Wi-fi is concerned. The hotel even had the bare-faced cheek to charge £20 for 24 hour access.

With my public service hat on, I'd remind all of you that use free hotspots or other hotspots provided by people that you don't know or trust that you do not necessarily know these hotspots are secure. Unless you use VPN or otherwise ensure all your traffic is encrypted, it is very easy for a rogue operator to capture any credentials you use for logging in to web sites, bank details, etc.

outside my house lol (i've still got to sort out my password etc on the router!)

Yes I use IPASS, although its company provided, works well, but not cheap on the deal that my company has got.

Cheers. I do travel a lot but only tend to use the web for plain text email and a bit of browsing (MBclub, obviously), so I've gone for one the the 3G modems which works fine for my needs (1Gb £10/month). I travel to Sweden once a month and as 3 have a network there I can use it overseas and it gets counted within my allowance.

Me to, although I dont travel much :( . I have the T-Mobile data-card thingy which, compared to newer usb modems, is a bit bulky but does the job very well and from pretty much anywhere and anytime. No complaints though at £20.00 a month with any amount of "fair usage" which TM deems to be 3Gb/month.

Portzy.
