As the windows drop when the doors are opening in my CL 500 has anyone got a solution to prevent the door windows from sticking in freezing conditions. Seems like it will break the window one of these days.

I use a product called goo-gone which is actually for removing sticky residue from peeling labels, I read about it on a BMW forum:ban: and used it ever since works a charm.

If you search on here others use vaseline, and other silicon based products,

Try Gummi-Pflege, highly recommended for all door and window seals.

I would steer clear of silicone, once it gets on the windows it's a bugger to get off! Vaseline is just messy and attracts grit/dirt

Totally agree on Vaseline and Silicone based products that's why I avoided them:thumb:

Cheers, I'll get some Goo-Gone tomorrow and give it a try. Thanks for all your replies.

Autoglym vinyl/rubber cleaner does the job too.

I used silicone on the CLK and SLK - the trick is go easy on it.
Spray a little on a piece of kitchen paper and that will do both cars - just a slight touch along the rubber seals and it works a treat - just needs re-touching after a month or so if its very cold, or you wash the car a lot.
