My wife has a December 2004 (facelifted) C-Class Estate. Last week a friend placed his 6230 in the 6230 compatible armrest cradle, despite not being recognised by the Comand it also appears to have messed up the system a little.

My wife has used her 6230 without any problems since new but now her handset is not always recognised by the Comand, she will make a call but the receipitant cannot hear her, contacts fail to load (list empty) etc. My guess is our friends 6230 is quiet old and this has caused the problem. Is anyone aware of a quick fix or reset or are we looking at a visit to a MB workshop.

Thanks in advance.

Melv.

Wild guess - he didn't put it in awkwardly and damage/dirty the contacts in the cradle, did he? It's usually contacts / connectors etc that cause 'not always' faults.

It's hard to imagine (but nothing is impossible I suppose) that something in the old phone's firmware could have messed up COMAND (especially to generate an intermittant fault - it would either work or not work).
