Hi everyone, I'm new to this forum also not a MB owner, but I'm looking for your help:eek: I'm going to give a hand to friend of mine and change front brake pads. The problem I have met are pins holding pads. I tried to tap them off, but they seem pretty solid. I can't even spin them. What am I doing wrong? Are these just slides in? Any help is very apreciated:thumb:

Do you mean the small split pins with a loop at the top, which stop the larger pins from slipping out?
If so use a pair if fine nose pliers to bull them out, they ate probably rusted in

They should knock out but they are common for seizing in.
You need a good starter punch to help them on there way.
Mercedes sell the pins seperatly, worth checking they have them in stick before you start.

Yes, I mean them. Would it be ok if I stuck a 3-4mm drill and use a mallet to tap them out? Also, does anyone know its part no?

You will more than likely snap the drill bit, it's not designed as a punch.
If you ring the dealer with the reg they will look it up for you

Sometimes they can get really stuck. If so chop through them and get new ones

I had this problem on my W211. Had to dremel through the pins and one was so solid that I had to then drill one end of it out......good luck
