Front chassis cross member

Hi guys, I recently had my W210 estate serviced and was told that the chassis cross member was rusty and will need to be replaced. Anyone any ideas on the cost and what sort of additional works is entailed in fitting a new one.

subframe / front chassis cross member that supports all the suspension arms etc..

is actually called front axle support

only about £150 for the part but expect a nice big labour bill

(but I wouldn't know about this cause i've never heard of this scenario before) (wink)

I have repaired a few of these now on higher mileage cars by welding a plate on the bottom face of the x-member. Saves on all the dismantling....

As the car is under 10 years old MB will pay for the repair under the goodwill scheme.
