Front wing drainage problem

My 2015 S212 has a problem with water poooling in the front nearside wing (between the door and the wheel) after I wash it.

I reported this to MB who said the drain hole was clear but said there may be a blockage further up that's stopping the water draining properly. However, they "ran out of time" when it was booked in and didn't complete the job (yes, really).

What they said would tie in with my own observations that when I push in the wheel arch liner slightly, the water drains – as if there's a blockage further up that's creating a vacuum and holding the water in. I've cleared around the drain hole at the top of the wing near the bonnet mounts and it's as clean as a whistle, so it obviously not there.

Where is this likely to be and can I easily clear it myself?

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

This is how most drains are ,, the drain outlet is at the rear of the arch liner .Water escapes but any leaves , and dirt will clog up at the back of each arch liners and holds the water like a stoper ..Thats were the rust will start if its not cleaned out on a yearly basis ..

Thanks for that. I take it Ill need to jack up the car and remove the wheel arch liner, yes?

Sure thats if the drain comes out at the rear of the arch lining ..Just Google were your drain is before you lift the car up i just say its the normal place for it to drain out of , going of the water draining out of it /And my own car is the same .

I use plastic coated curtain wire doubled up if necessary to clean out the drains. If this doesn't work a length of welding rod into the outlet never fails. Check by pouring a cup full of water into the inlet to see if it's draining. I found on the 216 that I only needed to remove the fastenings at the bottom of the liner and pull it out slightly to access the drain outlet, rather than removing the whole liner. Pathetic show on the part of your MB dealer if they couldn't even clear a drain!
