I have been imobolised for 6weeks (ankle replacement)so have relied on my wife to run the engine every so often. last week the car has been frozen up (out side) On opening the door the mirrors didnt open out as normal & shesaid there was a power fail lgt. on the dash, she sprayed de-icer fl.uid into them & to my horror she said she could move them manually. But the warning lght. had gone out.
As i cant get out to check for sometime to come has anyone got any advise to give.

mine did the same whilst being in the garage. one mirror would open and close and the other stuck, so i manually opened it and had no other problems there after

I used to have trouble with frozen door mirrors, but after a good internal dose of silcone spray (not WD40 or de-icer!) they have all been fine despite the current silly temperatures.:)

I've got into the habit of gently "cracking" the door mirrors in icy / frosty conditions before I unlock the car. When I then open the door the mirrors both open normally. Works for me...
