Been driving back to Scotland last week, the temperature was at least -5 degrees on the M74. The wiper on the W202 is not wiping the windscreen clean even with full strength screen washer, the top tip proturbing upward.

Any tip how to get rid of the frozen ice caught within the wiper blade?

I reckon is bad design of the wiper blade and arm, even though it is Bosch.

Heater gun,or hair dryer.

Carry a thermos of hot water. A bit of a pain but can't think of much else.

Buy a Volvo or Subaru both have completely heated wiper devices so ice just melts instantly always amazes me why other manufacturers never did this?

I learnt recently that only Ford and Ford past/present owned vehicles have front heated windscreens. Supposedly they have a strong patent that prevents other OEMs from cloning it. I wonder if that's the same for the heated wiper system you mention?

I was having the same problem with my 190, got one of those new type solid blades,so it cant freeze up. Not ideal for the mono wipers but far better than a frozen Bosch!

Actually you may be right there, although Volvo and Subaru have them they do work differently. The Volvo winter pack is great heated screen wash, heated nozzles, anti ice wipers, heated seats and heated steering wheel. very toasty :bannana:

You can buy the anti ice wipers they are basically std wipers in a rubber condom affair!
I tried the one piece wiper and it misses a huge chunk of screen on the driverd side not recomended.
