The work I have had done in the last two months is as follows:
Full engine service; two air filters, pollen filter, oil and filter using all genuine OEM Mercedes parts (with receipts). The fuel filter is actually in the fuel tank and it's not on the Mercedes service schedule, they say they don't change them unless it's a problem because the job is very labour intensive.
Brand new genuine OEM battery.
Brand new genuine OEM aux battery.
Brand new reconditioned air strut purchased from "Air Dominance".
Brand new genuine OEM locking nuts.
Brand new genuine OEM wheel centre caps.
Brand new brake pads front and rear sourced from Carbotech Europe; the brake set up is the frankly ridiculously brilliant Brabus system. The pads that were on were fitted by the previous owner but they were a hardcore racetrack compound and the brake dust from them was very thick and the wheels were caked within three days of normal use. I could have probably put up with this if they didn't squeak so much unless you got them red hot, so made the decision to replace with a more road-going friendly pad at a cost of £520, although I have retained the originals (still got 80% wear left). I had these fitted 9th July and I'm very pleased with them. The discs are virtually new too so there'll be no costs for a long time in that department.
Up until 2013 the car had full Mercedes Tier One warranty which is pound for pound exactly the same as the original manufacturers warranty.
Modifications:
Kleeman headers this adds circa 35bhp which takes the car to circa 510bhp
Primary cats removed
Brabus brake kit (£18,000 plus VAT). I only know of one other Mercedes with this kit, such was the original purchase price and exclusivity.
19" AMG IV split rim alloys with four brand new Continental 'Sport Contact 2' tyres fitted.
I also have a 180mm crank shaft pulley not fitted that adds circa 70bhp that is have no problem with adding to the deal
Background of the car:
The previous owner is a good friend of mine and finally gave in to my badgering him to sell me the car. He owned it from it having 22k miles on the clock and sold it to me with 98k on, he bought it at just over two year old so owned it for circa ten years. This has always been (and still always will be) the perfect Mercedes, the perfect AMG even, for me: there really is nothing on the market with this much power that can carry seven people (well, five adults and a couple of children in the boot!). The only reason for sale is that I've been offered my dads good friends 2011 RR Sport at the part exchange price he was offered and it's an offer I can't refuse.
The Brabus brakes, which are circa £18,000 to buy brand new from Brabus, are what really sets this wagon apart from everything else, the stopping power is unbelievable, I owned an W211 E55 with standard brakes a year ago and the difference is night and day and the standard brakes are really good which tells a lot.
There are no future foreseeable costs in my opinion: it's just had the big service done using Genuine Mercedes parts, new brake pads all round (with a spare set!), brand new Continental tyres all round, M.O.T.'d until next June.... I have only used the best possible OEM parts possible, these are great cars that only deserve the best.
Only ever run on Shell VPower.
If you have any questions whatsoever, please don't hesitate to get in touch and if I think of anything else then I'll add it to the advert.
See the below post for exterior photos, I'll upload interior shots tonight or tomorrow.
