I have a '96 E320 auto (older in-line 6 model) and am looking at a 190 2.6 (manual) and a W124 300D (auto).

1) Are fuel additives worth it and if so, which one(s)?

2) What chipping options would anyone recommend for any or all three of the above?

Also, are opinions still split over the EcoTek device?

Cheers all,

Jukie.

Personally, I would be more interested in freeing up the godawful exhaust system and restrictive air intakes before doing the other mods.

As you are probably aware, many cars make enourmous gains in these areas alone.

Scott,

What have you done to yuor 190 and what improements have you achieved?

1. Washed it (much cleaner now)
2. Bought new wheels (tyres don't go flat now)

Both are definately worth the money. ;-)

Unfortunately because of the draconian insurance practices of the UK's insurers I have chosen to do precisely nothing.

I would really like to get a set of mandrel bent extractors, high flow cat and a decent s/s mandrel bent exhaust but the prices for exhaust work here are also high.

I'd also route the air intake through to the fron guard somewhere.
