Hi I do my own basic servicing on my w211 (oil changes, Air filter and brakes). I've never changed a fuel filter or sure where it is? Any advice would be appreciated or if anyone has a link to some instructions that would be great.

Cheers

Dead easy, remove the plastic cover over the engine (just lifts off) and the Fuel filter is bang in the middle of the engine at the top, looks like an Oil filter.

Make sure you fill the new filter with Diesel before fitting to save unnecessary churning of the engine on start up.

Take off the air intake pipe. Be aware of the large rubber orange seal and make sure this goes back properly. Any evidence of oil leakage replace the seal.

The fuel filter is in the middle of the V. Take the clips off and replace them. Remove the hoses. Undo the 5mm allen key and pull the filter out.

You can't fill the new filter up and there is no point as it has a electric pump in the tank that will fill it in seconds when the ignition is turned on.

Thanks for the responses, much appreciated :thumb:

Do I need to go to a dealer for the clips that need to be replaced?
