Hi all, I was thinking of having a go at replacing the fuel filter on my W204 220cdi. it is same as the one in the photo. the problem I have is the clips on the two pipes are not jubilee ones, they seem to be a compressed ring type requiring a special tool to remove. is there a specific tool for the job, or do I just cut them off and use jubilee clips.maxresdefault 2.jpg

Can't see from the pic but there are a few types. If they are 'ear' clamps then I don't think they can be re-used. There are other similar clips which require a tool to remove them and re-clamp them

Thanks for the reply, not sure what the clamps/clips are. just don't want to cut them off and find that jubilee clips aren't up to the job.

Cheers alecmascot. do these remove the old ones and replace the new ones.
:).

The Clic pliers are worth the money, they will open the binder as MB call it when used one way then you turn them over to close it.

Big :thumb: to all. I will order the filter and pliers, then have a go in the next few days.
Cheers all.:).

When i did mine i cut them off and used jubliee clips.

This bloke used a pair of tile nibblers!
