Fuel Filter Direction

Hi Guys,
Do you know which way the arrow points for the fuel filter on a SL320 2001?
Should it point towards the rear of the car or the front?

On my car the fuel flow ( and hence arrow )thro the filter is towards the rear. Better to trace the overall pipe work. Normally a thick pipe from tank to the fuel pump/pumps then on to fuel filter and then by thinner pipe to front of car. the exit pipe from the filter may initially point towards the rear but curves round towards the front. trace it and see. logic is pump first then filter second that should tell you the direction of fuel flow. this might help http://www.detali.ru/cat/oem_mb2.as...GA=722.607&CT=F&cat=44F&SID=47&SGR=045&SGN=03

It sort of makes sense now, i had a scare when i was told that the arrow on the filter should point towards the front of the car....
