Took car into indy today, confirmed it was the HP injector pump Pt No 612070001/80. As MB don't supply service parts, it's a replacement pump job at a cost of £270 + Mr Brown's share + labour, approx £400. I was then given a Tel No for a Diesel specialist 'Diesco's' in Ipswich,Suffolk who may be able to carry out a permanent fix. I contacted them for a price but they need to see the car and faulty pump before giving quote. Any suggestions to what i should do? The leak is from the top where two faces meet and secured by 4 x allen bolts, did think about having a go my self but wasn't sure what i may encounter along the way.

Any info would be appreciated.

PS Tried to attach a picture but not sure how to, beginners eh!!!

You can seal it yourself. Remove the pump and then the 4 bolts. Make sure the surfaces are really clean and not covered in fuel. Use a good quality sealant (blue hylomar).

Thanks BlackC55, are there any springs or valves that may fall out or come loose when the top cover is removed and do you know the torque of the 4 allen bolts.

if later on down the road, if theres a leak in the ful lines nes the engine look for the lines where it meets the rail and the fuel filter. Replace the clamp with a SS clamp (marine Grade) . It should fix the problem and can be don yourself. Easy. Althoug i still have a leak on the rail it self where the sensor at the end of the rail leaks. Just waiting to source the seal kit to do it and done. Good luck on your rig buddy.

There is a spring inside but it won't fly out. Dont know the torque but do them up FT.
