Fuel Protests

Interesting read - it gives an insight into the care and clear thinking that goes into such sentencing.
Indeed. And it shows the line that those who are claiming the sentences to be disproportionate to be an absolute falsehood. These are cunning, devious, people who are a danger to everyone.

I doubt that particular idiot will change his ways.
I'll go further: I'm sure he won't.
I wonder how long a sentence he will get next time.
For fanatics like Hallam, it's a crying shame that indeterminate sentences have been stopped.

....I guess if they are released in a few weeks/months as they will be, I'm pretty certain they won't block roads again....

I am not so sure. I think that they see themselves as martyrs for a cause, and believe that history will remember them as it remembers Nelson Mandela (and maybe in a hundred years time a status will be erected for them etc).

They'll probably be released in 6 months because the prisons are full.

I doubt it as IMO, as they never thought for a moment they'd be locked up for more than a few months

If any JSO operatives are reading this thread and you want to remembered/etc with a 6-foot tall statue in
some city etc, just go and block the road in Rhyhad. Trust me, you'll make the heads and you will be remembered
for taking your fight/concerns to the heart of the oil king. Please feel free to quote this post in your defence
when the police, special police takes you away.

False Feed him ex lax in prison so as to get rid of all the $ # I t he is so overloaded with .

Some may have been unfortunate enough to watch the statement given by the mother of Cressida Gethin, one of the four imprisoned, whining that the sentence means dear Cressida won't be able to attend her brother's wedding next year

The level of tone-deaf elite entitlement displayed is breathtaking.

Actually, I do have an idea: We should allow Cressida a day's release from prison so that she can attend her brother's wedding and then stage a protest blocking her route to it.

That is surely grounds for appeal:thumb:
Wonder if all the guests will be walking/ cycling to the wedding. They cannot take cars after all the sacrifice that Cressida has endured

Heaven forbid someone should show up and throw tomato soup over the wedding dress , or scatter orange powder outside the church .

So if the judge could have given them each ten years, why didnt he?? And why did all the traffic have to be stopped just because someone was on the cables? the traffic doesnt get stopped if maintenance workers are above
Instead of a major police operation and hours of inconvenience to others , a police sniper could have taken them out in 5 minutes , and then just left the bodies hanging up there as a warning to others .

The americans shot that boy with the gun last week without any hesitation .

It's come to my attention that the two JSO clowns who threw soup over Van Gogh's Sunflowers in 2022 are being tried at Southwark Crown Court this week.

In what is hopefully indicative of more good news on the horizon, the presiding judge is HHJ Christopher Hehir, the very one who sentenced Hallam & Co to custody last week.

Yes I saw that this morning ; they deny criminal damage , but evidence has already been given that the tomato soup was corrosive to the surface of the antique picture frame and damaged the finish ( the painting was behind glass ) , so what must it do you your insides ? I just had a tin of Heinz Tomato and Basil soup a few days ago , and am also partial to the 'normal stuff ) .

so what must it do you your insides
It's always advised that you shouldn't store food with tomato-based sauces in aluminium foil containers as the acids from the tomatoes will leech into the aluminium and contaminate the food.

That's also why you'll find tinned tomatoes/ tomato soup etc is sold in tins with a coating on the inside.

Hi,
Last Friday there was a protest in Dubai by a group of Bangladeshis - they were protesting against their own government in Bangladesh (so no idea why they chose to demonstrate in Dubai).
The Dubai police urged them to end their demonstration & disperse - under threat of arrest - but they apparently ignored the police demands.
Below is the local news article on Saturday

On Monday, those arrested appeared in court in Abu Dhabi.
Below is a report on the results of their court case.

Three were sentenced to life imprisonment and 54 were sentenced to 10 years followed by deportation.

Swift justice and a message to others!

Life imprisonment strikes me as an unreasonably harsh punishment for taking part in a protest.

To quote Punch:

"That's the way to do it":rolleyes::oops:;)

In the Bangladeshi's case, I agree.
But had that protest stopped an ambulance from delivering a sick patient to hospital and that patient died as a result of the delay, then I'm all for a life sentence.
