I have recently been smelling petrol here and there but was not sure untill i saw some petrol drops underneath the rear of the car!

I took it in to the garage this morning and it was leaking quite bad so the guy changed over the rubber hose which sort of fixed the issues but was still slightly leaking around the edge and he is saying that the fuel pump is rusted/Corroded the edge therefore not completely stopping the leak.

Is this possible for it to get corrode even when under the pastic houseing it sits in?

and if so what is the cost for a fuel pump these days?

    many thanks in advanced
